Ever looked at a crab? You know the 10-legged invertebrate that walks sideways, and has an exoskeleton. Others and I have wondered who looked at this creature and decided that it should be on there dinner table! While conducting research I've found out that no one knows who that person was! There are probally 4,500(or more) different types of crabs living on Earth.
Archaeologist have noted that humans have been eating crustasians such as crabs, lobster, and shrimp since prehistoric time. The most popular edible crab is the Cancer Pagurus Crab, found in the North Sea, North Atlantic, and the Mediterranean Sea. This crab has a reddish-brownish color. In restuarants you would mostly see King or Snow Crab on the menue. Snow Crab are apart of Chionoecetes, a genus of crabs that live in cold waters. The most popular part on a crab is their legs. A lot of restuarants sell crab legs, and u can also find them in your local groccery store. They would have someone selling them by the pound. Ive also seen crab legs sold in Sams Club, but these crab legs were sold in the frozen section boxed. Crab legs are often served with lemon wedges and a cup of melted garlic butter on the side!

Another way to serve crab is in a cake form! Crab Cake was created in America. It includes crab meat, bread crumbs, milk, eggs, seaoning, and onions(yellow). Some people like to be creative, so they add more ingrediants in such as peppers(green) and whatever satisfies the mouth! After ingrediants are added its sautéed, baked and sometimes grilled. Most people perfer theirs deep-fried and breaded. Theirs no restrictions on which crab meat that can be used, different area use different crabs. Crab Cakes vary in size, their no smaller than a small cookie and no bigger than a hamburger. Theyre served with sauce of your choice, perferabbly tarter sauce, ketchup, remoulade, or mustard.
